A Smooth(ie) Session Focused on Mental Wellness

Smooth(ie) session is a community initiative by Lay.Retreat that is inspired by our innate desire to cultivate a healthy relationship and rituals with ourselves and others.

In conjunction with World Mental Health Day on October 10th, we wanted to spark the conversation around mental health again and incorporate routines and habits that anyone can start doing to improve their mental health. 

So it’s only apt that in our October Smooth(ie) Session we put all our focus on doing guided journaling for mental health. 

Did you know by adding journaling in your daily routine, it can help your personal growth and shift your mind towards gratitude?  

Here are some journaling prompts you can try at home! 

  1. What am I grateful for? 

  2. Who am I grateful for? 

  3. When you look at your child self, how old were they? Describe them. 

  4. Have an image of your ideal self, what do they do, wear, and how do they live? 

  5. Reflect on yourself in the present, how are you? 

  6. How far are you from your ideal self? 

  7. Are you making your younger self proud? 

  8. What can you do to be closer to your ideal self?

Whether you choose to journal with a notebook or go digital, it is a good way to process your thoughts and emotions.
